MAJOR LEAGUE PICKLEBALL UNVEILS DYNAMIC LEAGUE FORMAT FOR 2023 INCLUDING: 24 TEAMS FEATURING HIGH PROFILE OWNERSHIP GROUPS, TWO SEASONS WITH MAJOR EVENTS ACROSS THE U.S., AND A PROMOTION AND RELEGATION SYSTEM
To no question, Pickleball is on the rise as one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Pickleball popularity exploded last year, with more than 36 million playing the sport. In recent months, star athletes ranging from LeBron James and Tom Brady to Kevin Durant and Patrick Mahomes have brought more high-profile attention to the sport by investing in professional pickleball teams.
Gross Labs has made an investment into DC Pickleball Team, based out of Washington D.C. For 2023 the league is creating a “premier” division of 12 teams and a “challenger” division of 12 teams. Each team will play half the year in the premier division and the other half in the challenger division. DC Pickleball Team will play in the Challenger Division to begin the year.
